We are kicked off our Forward Operating Galleries with a collaboration with the University of Houston Clear Lake. We were proud to showcase the work of Veteran and Military connected artists in the Bayou Building on the UHCL campus. The theme of "Mettle and Honor" paid respect to the determination, resilience, and pride shown by Armed Service members and their loved ones and the perseverance shown by members of our community on a daily basis. This gallery ran from 22 May 2023 through June 2023. A receptionwas held for artists, friends, and family on 25 May 2023. This event featured the work of: Amanda DeViney, Nicole Harford Dodd, Katharine Graham, USA, Gaw S. Jones, Jr., USMC, Christopher Martinez, USN, James Meyer, USAFR, Jason Turner, USA
SALUTE
Nov 2023 - Dec 2023
We collaborated with Ardest Gallery in The Woodlands to bring together artists from all over Texas to display their works in this beautiful gallery space in celebration of Veteran's Day.
(WAR)RIOR
Aug 2024 - Nov 2024
Hosted by Spring Street Studios in Houston, TX, this exhibition featured the works of more than a dozen Veteran artists as well as some dedicated community members. This series invited viewers to consider how its artists’ range of circumstances, personalities, and artistic expression find common ground and how their shared experiences of war nonetheless remain intensely personal. Viewers were also encouraged to reflect on how the external impacts of service and warfare can both reflect and yet obscure the internal effects.
