A Fundraiser for the Veteran Arts Community
Jersey Village, TX (4/X/2025) – On April 13th, 2025, 1pm - 5pm Artists In Arms will hold its second annual “Anti-Gala” in the form of a crawfish boil fundraiser at Senate Avenue Brewing Company (16000 Dillard Dr. Suite F, Jersey Village, Tx. 77040). This event features fresh crawfish from Bayou Boiled Seafood, who served 250 pounds of crawfish at the event last spring.
This fundraiser is intended to appeal to those who want to support arts programing and Veteran Service Organizations, but to whom the price point of a traditional gala ticket at $400+ may not be attainable. Artists in Arms, in alignment with their general mission of inclusivity and bringing the arts and the journey of Veteran artisans to the community, have set ticket prices accordingly. General Admission tickets are free, and the event, and brewery, is open to the public. VIP tickets are $50 and include entry, one (1) raffle ticket, and All You Can Eat crawfish. Attendees of either ticket will also be able to purchase additional raffle tickets and food or drinks from Senate Avenue’s menu.
“As far as recorded history exists, our warriors have been using the arts to reconnect with our friends, family, and communities. From the cave paintings here in North America depicting hunts and battles, to epic poetry like the Iliad and the Odyssey, to more modern works like the book “The Things They Carried” or even the idyllic paintings of Air Force Veteran Bob Ross, we have used artistic expression to connect, to heal, and to tell our stories.” Says Amelia Templeton, Executive Director of Artists in Arms, “Artists in Arms exists to provide a community where Veterans of all service eras and social backgrounds can come together to create, to have fun together, and to get more eyes on their work if that’s what they want. We are here to elevate the creative voices of our siblings in arms and this event is intended to bring our supportive community together with our creative Veterans for an afternoon of camaraderie, creativity and of course crawfish.”
Those in attendance will be able to bid on a silent auction with various items including art pieces created by Veteran artisans, and enjoy event-exclusive commemorative glassware and event-exclusive beer by Senate Avenue Brewery, both for purchase. There will also be artists in attendance to discuss their journey as Veterans and artisans and the impact Artists in Arms is making. Art will be on display from some of the artists, as well as demonstrations by Full Steel Combat, an unscripted medieval combat group. Attendees will also have the opportunity to shop at the MicroMarket featuring Veteran and Community artisans and artists selling their handmade work.
Artists in Arms is a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving the Greater Houston Area. They are currently raising funds to expand their programs and reach more Veterans, and continue to build out their HQ to better serve members.
